Despite its many strengths, some diners have expressed that the chips occasionally lack the desired crispiness, which can be a hit or miss depending on the day. A few have noted the restaurant's relatively small size, which sometimes makes it feel crowded during peak hours. The hustle of dinner rushes, particularly on Mondays, can inhibit a more leisurely dining experience. While the exterior features a charming outlook, occasional parking challenges near Pitfield Street might deter those driving in. Lastly, while most dishes shine, a small number of diners feel that certain items on the menu could use more seasoning or bold flavors, leading to mixed reviews on specific appetizers.
The best fish and chips in the borough. Absolutely delicious, crispy light batter and the chips wasn't hard or dry. The tartar sauce was tasty.y elderly Mum was very impressed. Most of all Hussain has excellent customer service and he has a kind soul. We will try and visit again when the sun is out or we'll definitely order a few takeaways ❤️
Genuinely, honestly? This has to be the best chippy in London. Fish selection on point, fried to perfection - you can order anything on the aside from curry sauce or fried sausage to a freaking gherkin. The chips were above average for fish and chip spots in LDN - but the fish, the fish is where it’s at. Sit in for a clean, atmospheric, hipster choppy experience (beer and wine on offer) or take away. Outdoor seating also available on a sunny day in a pleasant street.
I really enjoyed this restaurant, and though it's not a large restaurant, the food was great. I visited twice during my visit to London and had fried cod the first time, and fried haddock the second time, both times with chips.
Excellent fish and chips, had the haddock and it was large, fresh, and nice batter. Chips seemed fresh cut, good taste but not very crispy (personal preference). Tartar sauce seemed homemade, was super nice. Further exceeding that is the fried whitebait appetizer which was the best we’ve ever had globally, fried in cornmeal batter and so tasty. The whitebait here are not the tiny style from New Zealand but instead are rather big (meaning bigger than say a sardine), quantity received was more than expected or mentioned in the menu — we LOVED them! Salt and pepper squid was very good, no issues but not world best category like the whitebait. Staff here pleasant and attentive. We ate in, and the tables were decent, clean, comfortable. Bathroom okay. Nice neighborhood. In summary we really enjoyed this place and we’ll likely be back here nice time we are in London.
I rarely review a restaurant unless it is to warn people away No chance with this place. I should start by saying my favourite food is fish and in particular cod and chips. I am not local but had eaten fish and chips in the area previously and every time found the meal overpriced and just average. Not in this case - the price was good for London, the fish was fresh and tasty. We all know the batter can make or break fish and chips. This was the best battery I have tasted. All in all I have found my favourite fish and chips so far in London. Well worth a visit
I always get fish & chips on a UK trip, and today was the day. This place was near my hotel and highly rated, so I took a flyer on it - so happy that I did! I got a MASSIVE hunk of haddock that was nicely battered (just enough to let the fish be the star), good chips, and I tried a Turkish beer I’d never had that I liked a lot as well. Well worth the visit!
I just had the most amazing takeaway fish and chips from this place. I can’t remember the last time I got a takeaway fish and chips. I usually go to the local pub. This place is way better than any pub fish and chips. Honestly highly recommend, you don’t be disappointed. The cod just melts in your mouth.
